A woman has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a lorry on a Birmingham road.
The woman, a pedestrian, was struck by a heavy goods vehicle at the junction of Alcester Road and St Mary’s Row in Moseley shortly before 3pm on Monday (January 19).
All three emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.52pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, two paramedics and the service’s critical care car.
They found a woman who was in a ‘serious condition’, gave her ‘specialist trauma care’ at the roadside before rushing her to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a major trauma centre in Selly Oak on blue lights.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry at the junction of Alcester Road and St Mary’s Row in Birmingham at 2.52pm.
“We sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers and the WMAS Critical Care Car to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found a woman in a serious condition and began administering specialist trauma care before conveying her under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”

West Midlands Police described the incident as a ‘serious collision’ and confirmed Alcester Road had been closed following the incident.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “We are currently at the scene of a serious collision on Alcester Road, Birmingham, and a road closure is in place.
“The road is shut between the junction with St Marys Row and Reddings Road.
“Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”
West Midlands Fire Service attended the incident but referred to the police for further updates.

National Express West Midlands confirmed two of its services were being diverted following the incident.
It posted on X and said: “Service Disruption.
“Collision on Alcester Road South/Salisbury Road, Moseley.
“Services 35 and 50 will be diverting in both directions via Queensbridge Road, Russell Road and Salisbury Road
“Apologies for any disruption to your journey.”
Traffic information service, Inrix, confirmed the A453 Alcester Road was closed in both directions due to the crash.
