Hello? It’s 2023 calling. We’re obsessed with Kylie Jenner’s revival of tomato girl summer.

If, like us, you keep up to date with *every* single fashion micro-trend, you’ll fondly remember the above look (see: lifestyle). Popularised by TikTok, at its core, it represented a romanticised Mediterranean summer. What’s not to love?

Focusing on a laid-back, slow pace of life, an obsession with regions like the Amalfi Coast, Santorini, and Barcelona, and of course, a red-centric colour palette, the aesthetic tapped into a sun-drenched summer.

Now, as we head into the warmer months, there’s no telling what 2025’s trend might be. But if we’re going by Kylie’s latest post, there’s a strong chance that tomato girl summer 2.0, defined by tighter, more risqué Y2K pieces, could be just around the corner.

To unpack, Kylie took to the ‘gram to share a bunch of balcony snaps overlooking Miami Beach. (While not quite Sorrento, the coastal element bears an obvious similarity.)

Though the view was enviable, the 27-year-old stole the show in a pomodoro red spaghetti strap minidress. Leaving little to the imagination, the skimpy piece featured a low, scooped neckline and perfectly accentuated Kylie’s hourglass figure.

She paired the dress with a chunky gold bangle, huge hooped earrings, a snake print clutch, and some gold slip-on, open-toe heels. Kylie styled her signature jet black locks in voluminous beach waves, and sported an all-over glowing tan. As for her makeup, it was all about glossy lips, fluffy lashes, and a rosy blush.

And, if you want proof that Kylie could be leading the way in terms of this summer’s aesthetic, just read the comments.

“red HOT”, someone typed, as another said: “Art,” followed by a string of heart emojis.

“Stunning in red,” a third penned, while a fourth echoed: “Kylie’s back.”

Yep, we’re calling it.
