The family of a 22-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash on a major road have paid tribute to the “gentle giant”. Alfie Copeland lost his life in a collision with a van on Saturday on the A487 Cardigan bypass in Ceredigion.
Mr Copeland’s family said: “Alfie was bright, happy, hilarious, adventurous, ambitious, kind and a gentle giant.
“He had a bright future and so many plans. We will never stop missing him, always in our hearts.”
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called just after 1.05pm to a report of a collision involving a Yamaha YZF R7 motorbike and a Volkswagen Transporter van on the A487 northbound, near the junction of Caemorgan Road.
“The rider of the motorbike was airlifted to hospital where he sadly died of his injuries. No other injuries were reported.”
Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
“Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage that could support their investigation,” said the spokeswoman.
