Hollyoaks’ Mercedes McQueen is set to make a life-changing decision soon, as she continues to battle with her addiction to the prescription anxiety pills that scheming Gemma Johnson has been slipping her. After her on-off love interest Warren Fox told her that he slept with Gemma on Christmas Day after a big argument, Mercedes went off to Alicante.
In scenes set to air next week, Mercedes returns and Warren once again steps in to support her.
Theresa also tries to help, telling Mercedes that she understands her struggles and opens up about her own dark past and how Warren got her through her most difficult moments. Unfortunately though, she just causes an intoxicated Mercedes to lash out at her.
Warren then walks in and tells Mercedes that they both need to be strong to face what’s ahead, and that he’s made a phone call.

The next day, Mercedes gets ready to head off to rehab. Warren tells her that she is strong enough to make it and they share a loving moment.
At rehab, Mercedes makes friends with Nikki Shadwick, another Brookside character who was briefly featured in the anniversary week crossover special.

However, Mercedes starts to panic after a morning yoga session when Nikki tells her that her family is coming in to support her during a group therapy session.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
