Police have arrested and charged a 43-year-old following a number of calls about a man in a “state of undress” near a busy West Lothian road.
Locals in Bathgate reported the incidents on Tuesday, January 20. Officers attended at the Edinburgh Road area of the town and detained the man.
He was later charged in connection with a report of public indecency, and appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 21.
A post on social media from Police Scotland read: “We are aware of several reports from members of the public about a male in a state of undress in the Edinburgh Road area of Bathgate on 20 January 2026.
“We can confirm that officers attended at the time and arrested a 43-year-old male. He was subsequently charged and held in custody to appear at court.
Sergeant Lee Brodie said: “We would like to thank the public for reporting this matter to us.
“Anyone with further information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1810 of 20 January. In an emergency always call 999.”
