Filmmaker Tyler Perry, who is close friends with Meghan Markle, has been praised for his caring attitude towards his fans.

Tyler, 55, started his career in the early ’90s and seems to have gone from strength to strength ever since. He’s currently working as the director, writer and producer on The Oval, which is now in its sixth season.

Actor Ed Quinn, who stars as President Hunter Franklin in the political drama, spoke to The Express US about what it’s like to work with Tyler, who he praised for his “humility.”

“I just knew that working with Tyler meant that you could have some real longevity. But it’s one of the rarest things in Hollywood now. I don’t think anybody has the loyal fan base that he does,” Ed said.

He also suggested Tyler is the main reason for The Oval’s success.

He added, “And I’ve been on sci-fi shows that were one thing and then they decide to be another thing. Doesn’t work. Fans don’t come with you.”

Unlike the creators of these shows, Ed said Tyler “knows his fan base.” He added, “They know him, they trust him. They’ll go on wild journeys like my ridiculous character [in The Oval].

“But yeah, there’s a real humility to that. He makes shows for an audience that he knows intimately and it’s the recipe for his success, but there’s that and being the hardest working man in Hollywood.”
