Have a look around inside Wales’ smallest auction property – it won’t take longA tiny brick buildingSurely Wales’ smallest property auction lot and maybe the most surprising too(Image: Paul Fosh Auctions)

Scanning through auction properties online soon to be going under the virtual hammer can reveal a real mix of buildings and homes looking for a new owner. From a traditional terrace to a dream home, from an empty shop to a slice of land, the auction is the place to find a huge variety of properties and potential opportunities to invest money or bag yourself a bargain.

But there’s a wee little building that’s just been added to Paul Fosh Auctions latest batch of lots going under the hammer soon that is likely to stop you in your scrolling track. Lot number 26 has got a guide price of just £1 and it’s a toilet – just a toilet.

But this tiny building has delusions of grandeur as it even has a name – Ty Bach Twt – and if you’re willing to bid at least 100 pennies, or maybe more, it can become your ty bach. Located in the popular Carmarthenshire town of Ammanford this is surely the smallest building going under the hammer via any auction house at the moment. But what can a new owner maybe expect from their new purchase? Sean Roper, from Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “To coin a phrase there is no chain in this sale of a single public convenience toilet to the rear of a commercial centre in Ammanford. Basically the lot, at Ty Bach Twt, 33 Station Road, which we’ve listed with a guide price of just £1, consists of a toilet and sink basin in a small unit and that’s it.

“What we have here is an unusual opportunity to acquire a toilet in a busy commercial location. The property is freehold and subject to planning could have development potential. There could also, of course, be scope to refurbish the toilet unit and offer as a fee, rental, or service charge for the other commercial units already operating on site.

“Clearly imagination and inspiration and thought are needed to create a quirky space but this is a fantastic opportunity to create a unique venture.”

The property is going to auction with vacant possession. From your ty bach there is plenty to explore around the Ammanford area.

According to website Visit Mid Wales the focus of the town is directed towards retail with the busy high street and traditional indoor market providing the surrounding communities with goods and services.

There are a number of chapels, pubs, and restaurants in the town but the major visitor attractions lie just outside Ammanford. Bannau Brycheiniog and the Black Mountain are within a few miles of the town while Carreg Cennen Castle, one of the most famous and picturesque in Wales, is a short drive away.

The Aberglasney Gardens are open 364 days of the year and are a mecca for those with green fingers while the National Botanic Gardens are also within easy reach. If you ever wanted to explore further or need to travel for work or pleasure Ammanford has a railway station on the Heart of Wales line that runs from Shrewsbury to Swansea.

The toilet is being sold online by Paul Fosh Auctions. The auction which starts at 12pm on Tuesday, May 20, and ends at 5pm on Thursday, May 22. For more information call 01633 254044 if you feel the need to spend a penny or two and become this ty bach’s new owner.
