Drivers on the A9 are set for a month of evening and overnight disruption on the Kessock Bridge.

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential routine maintenance works on the crossing from February 1 to February 27.

The street lighting upgrade works will be carried out between 7pm to 6:30am daily, excluding Friday and Saturday nights.

Due to the nature of the works, traffic management will be required to close a lane north and southbound over the bridge during the works.

BEAR Scotland says this has been planned to cause minimal disruption.

A spokesman for BEAR Scotland said: “Street lighting coverage over the bridge may be affected during the installation works, which are dependent on weather and the existing condition of the structure, which may not be fully understood until works commence.

“As such, the programme of works is subject to postponement, cancellation or re-arrangement of dates in the event of adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

“We trust this helps to explain the nature of the project and the efforts being made to minimise disruption during the works.”
