Ayden Heaven has fired a message to Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho on social media.
The 19-year-old sustained an injury during United’s 3-0 win at Leicester City before March’s international break and was seen exiting the King Power Stadium sporting a protective boot. Heaven made his first Premier League start in that victory over Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team, but has remained side-lined through injury since.
Concerns were raised that the defender may be ruled out for the rest of this season. However, head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed last month that he’s expected to return to the pitch before the term concludes.
And Heaven has now liked Garnacho’s latest post on Instagram, which includes several images of the Argentine in action against Athletic Club on Thursday night. “We keep dreaming,” he said in the caption.
After missing United’s first three games after the March international break, Heaven returned to the squad against Newcastle United on April 13, being named on their subs bench.
However, he has not featured in any of United’s matchday squads since that date after suffering a “small set-back”, according to club sources.
Issuing an update last week, Amorim said: “Ayden is not ready, so that’s it.”
It’s unclear whether he will return to United’s squad for the Premier League trip to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
