Johnny Fisher challenges British heavyweight champion Jeamie TKV

Johnny Fisher (14-1, 12 KOs) has laid down the gauntlet to British heavyweight champion Jeamie Tshikeva (9-2, 5 KOs).

Taking to Facebook, Fisher said, “I’ve been offered to fight for the British title and terms have been agreed by both fighters and our management teams. It would be my life’s honour to lay it all on the line for Lonsdale belt. This is why I box, for the big nights and big challenges

“Time for the promoters to make it happen @boxxer @matchroomboxing.”

32 from Tottenham, Jeamie TKV won the Lonsdale belt in his last fight with Olympian Frazer Clarke. The Londoner clinched the British belt via split decision in the main event of a BOXXER shot in Derby.

It was TKV’s second shot at the silverware after a loss in his prior bout with fellow Londoner David Adeleye, where he was knocked out in the sixth round, in a divisive moment where he stopped boxing after a clinch and got caught cold.

“The Romford Bull” Johnny Fisher was defeated by Dave Allen in May last year, knocked out in the fifth round by the popular Doncaster fighter. It was a rematch to their December 2021 fight in Riyadh, where Fisher won on points but not without controversy, with most spectators believing it to be a robbery.

Fisher mistakenly went straight back into the rematch where he was beaten more decisively that time. The plucky pugilist from Essex ended last year with a fourth-round knockout over 7-0 Ivan Balaz.

Still just 26-years-old, Fisher is learning his trade with each passing fight, wearing his heart on his sleeve in and out the ring, the heavyweight certainly entertains. He is vulnerable defeat yet also powerful and dangerous, making his fights ‘edge of the seat’ viewing.
