Armed police were called to a Black Country shop following reports of a man having a knife.
The call out happened in Bearwood Road in Bearwood, Smethwick, shortly before 11am on Saturday (January 24).
Witnesses reported ‘armed response units’ in the busy street ‘near to Greggs’.

BirminghamLive understands a dispute took place in a shop near to Greggs.
A man was alleged to have ‘had a knife’ in a shop and ‘made threats’.
But when CCTV was reviewed and further enquiries made, it is believed that was not the case.
The accuser has now been arrested on suspicion of ‘wasting police time’ and on suspicion of shoplifting.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Bearwood high street at around 10.50am today (Saturday, January 24).
“It followed a report that a man had been threatened with a knife.
“Officers attended and after checking CCTV and speaking with witnesses, no weapon was recovered.
“Following CCTV enquiries, a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of theft and wasting police time.”
