
Police car collides with taxi in Belfast
A police car has collided with a taxi in Belfast City Centre.
The incident happened shortly after 1am on Sunday as the police vehicle was responding to a call with blue lights activated
The collision happened at the junction of Grosvenor Road and Great Victoria Street.
Moments after the crash, two police officers clambered out of the armoured Skoda Superb and began to assist the driver of the taxi and passengers in the back seat.

Six other police units responded to the incident before closing a section of Great Victoria Street.
Passengers from the rear of the taxi were helped into a nearby police car, while firefighters arrived a short time later and assessed the driver’s injuries.
He was later removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital by police.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “A police vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle road traffic collision in the Howard Street area of Belfast City Centre shortly after 1.05am on Sunday, January 25.
“There have been no reports of any serious injuries at this time.
“The road has now reopened following the collision.”
