A security alert in Lurgan has now ended and residents have been able to return to their homes.
The Shankill Street area of Lurgan was closed to the public this morning after police received a report at around 4.35am that a suspicious object had been left in the area.

A PSNI spokesperson said emergency services were at the scene and road closures were in place.
In an update this afternoon, police said officers attended the scene along with Ammunition Technical Officers who examined the object and declared it nothing untoward.

“Residents have been advised they can also return home after they were evacuated as a precautionary measure,” Chief Inspector Tim Flanigan said.
“We appreciate that people experienced disruption as this public safety operation was carried out, and we thank residents for their understanding and patience during this time.”
He added that enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information can contact the PSNI.
