A man has been arrested after a suspected stabbing victim was found injured in the street and rushed to hospital
Emergency services went to Burnham Avenue in the Llanrumney area of Cardiff at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening following calls from members of the public. Police said a man was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are described as being “non-life threatening”.
Police said an investigation into the incident was on-going and that it was believed the two men involved were known to each.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “A 52-year-old man from Llanrumney has been arrested following an incident in Burnham Avenue yesterday evening. Police attended a report of an injured man in the street at around 6.30pm. He remains in hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.” Never miss a Cardiff story by

In a statement from Llanrumney councillors Lee Bridgeman and Lexi Pocknell they wanted to reassure residents following the “serious incident” in Burnham Avenue and said people would notice an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
They said: “South Wales Police have confirmed that officers responded quickly following a report of a stabbing, which resulted in a significant police presence in the area. The victim, a local man, remains in hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. A man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
“An investigation is ongoing, and there will be an increased and visible police presence in the area over the coming days. Neighbourhood officers are also carrying out reassurance patrols and enquiries, including CCTV and house-to-house checks.
“We know incidents like this are deeply concerning for residents. Please be assured we are in close contact with South Wales Police and will continue to work with them to support our community.”
