A family cycling centre set to be replaced with housing would be moved to a temporary new base just yards away according to new plans recently submitted.
Each week Bristol City Council receives dozens of planning applications seeking permission for a whole range of developments.
Over the past seven days, those applications also included a new bar replacing a former Pizza Hut takeaway and four new consulting rooms at a GP surgery that were previously a pharmacy.
Here’s this week’s round-up of notable planning applications submitted to the council.
Every week dozens are validated by the local authority and we have selected some of the more interesting proposals.
All planning applications submitted to the council have to be validated and are available for inspection by the public.
Anyone is also allowed to submit comments about the applications — whether in support or objection.
The majority of applications are decided by planning officers at the council under delegated powers.
However, some will go before elected councillors who sit on planning committees.
No dates have been set for when the planning applications below will be determined.

Cycling centre temporary home
Bristol Family Cycling Centre would be moved temporarily for four years to a new home just 200 yards away.
The club is based at Whitchurch Athletics Track, which is being replaced by 125 homes as part of the huge Hengrove Park new suburb.
Bristol City Council has applied to its own planning department for permission to relocate the cycling centre’s nine shipping containers, which house bike storage, repair workshops, site office and toilets, to the green space next to the former St Bernadette’s Old Boys Rugby Club, where the later stages of the vast housing development will be built.
In planning documents, agents said: “Given that the site will ultimately be redeveloped as part of the wider Hengrove Park scheme, this application only seeks a four-year temporary planning permission, by which time the cycling centre should have a new permanent home
“The development makes effective use of land that is not scheduled for immediate redevelopment, and its strictly temporary nature means it will not prejudice the delivery of the approved masterplan for Hengrove Park.”
The council submitted a planning application last May for a new £15million regional cycling centre in Lawrence Weston, but this is 10 miles away from the club’s current base.
Former takeaway to bar
A former Pizza Hut delivery outlet would become a bar with a rear extension for a new seating area, office and small kitchen.
Plans for the expansion and change of use of the property in Fishponds Road, Fishponds, were recently dismissed on appeal because of concerns over noise impact on neighbours.
In planning documents, agents said the application removed the previously proposed roof terrace to address the concerns.
They said: “No other revisions have been made, and therefore in every other respect, the scheme is as per the previous scheme, which was found to be acceptable in terms of principle, design, conservation area impact, highways impact, sustainable energy and pollution.
“In dismissing the previous appeal, the Inspector was satisfied that the extension would not appear overbearing, and that the roof terrace would not result in additional overlooking.”
The previously proposed first-storey roof terrace has been replaced with a walkway from the external stairs to the entrance of the office on the same floor.
Pharmacy to become GP consulting rooms
Four new GP consulting rooms would replace a former pharmacy area at Lawrence Hill Health Centre in Hassell Drive.
In planning documents, architects said: “Since the health centre opened in 2004 the practice has seen an increase in patient numbers, and currently serves in excess of 10,000 patients.
“A corresponding increase in the number of consulting rooms has therefore been pursued by the practice, and the potential for extension of the building explored.
“When the operators of the on-site pharmacy, Lloyds, notified the practice of their intention to relocate, the opportunity arose to provide the necessary consulting space within the existing building.”
