The Currock fighter has joined the bill at the Gorilla 2 show in Birmingham in March.

Christie will fight fellow BKFC man George Thorpe.

They will go head to head at Birmingham’s Bingley Hall on Sunday, March 22.

Christie, who retired from the high-profile BKFC last year, continues to box on other platforms.

The 41-year-old will take on the 29-year-old Thorpe in a fight that promoters Gorilla have described as “an absolute banger”.

Gorilla, founded by former UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) boxer Darren Till last autumn, held its first show in Liverpool last week.

Christie will now aim to star at the second show with the skills that earned him high billing during his BKFC career.

The Cumbrian became UK light-heavyweight champion in 2023 before earning a world title shot at middleweight in 2024.

After his defeat to Birmingham’s Connor Tierney last summed, Christie announced he was stepping down from the BKFC for the second time with a record of five wins and three defeats.

Fellow Cumbrians continuing to fight on the BKFC platform include Egremont’s European heavyweight champion Agi Faulkner and Carlisle bantamweight Kieron Sewell.
