Today’s Horse Racing Betting Tips – Tuesday 27th January Click to view: Today’s Cards, Odds, Results and MoreOur Staking Plan
Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.
Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.
Tip 1 – 1:00 Chepstow – Crossbeau
Crossbeau put in a great performance over course and distance in November after a long break, but could have bounced next time up as he wasn’t enjoying it. A bit more time off could have done the trick here and he can confirm the form of his win with Locked Down Lad. With a 7lb claimer on board today he is effectively better off at the weights despite his increased handicap mark.

An intriguing race with plenty of French recruits facing off. Preference is for Jamie Snowden’s Senator. He was a solid third on his British / stable debut last time out on quick ground at Kempton. His two French runs also saw him finish third with plenty of give in the ground. Today’s conditions should suit much better and he’s fancied to come on a lot with his yard having a cracking season.

The lightly-exposed Pony Soprano is yet to really catch anyone’s eye, winning just once way back in 2024 and not really coming close in his six outings since. However, there is reason to believe that today is his day again. His last run was over today’s distance and is clearly something he’s more suited to, losing only to the top two in the market on that day, and coming down a grade from then should help.

El Capitaine was a prolific Pointer with seven wins from eight races for Joshua Norman, who is his five-pound claimer today. Given a decent account of himself in all three runs for new yard at the end of last year, including winning at Newton Abbott. Dropped two pounds despite finishing third in a higher class race over three miles last time out. With Norman well acquainted on board, he could be very nicely handicapped for this drop in trip and class.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
Where Can I Watch the Daily Horse Racing Selections Run?
The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch. We’ve also got a page specifically dedicated to Cheltenham Festival live streaming.
