Hollyoaks has confirmed a surprise return to the village next week ahead of some explosive scenes for the McQueen family. With Mercedes McQueen heading to rehab this week to tackle her addiction to prescription pills, the family matriarch Myra McQueen makes a shocking comeback.
With family therapy scenes teased in the soap’s New Year trailer, we knew that Myra would be returning to the soap sometime soon.
Viewers know that Myra left the village back in November to visit Alicante and help out her daughter Michaela ahead of Michaela star Hollie-Jay Bowes’ return to Hollyoaks.
Meanwhile, new character Jenson, whose first scenes air this week, will enter the soap as a patient at the rehab clinic.
The New Year trailer teased a romantic attraction between Mercedes and Jenson, played by Coronation Street star Ryan Clayton, who is somehow connected to Tinhead.

In scenes set to air next week, Myra has returned to the village, and is shocked to hear that her daughter Mercedes is in rehab.
With Mercedes undergoing treatment at a rehab clinic, the McQueen family gather to support her by attending a group family session.
Theresa is nervous in the company of a therapist and Goldie starts to blame Mercedes for bringing Warren back into their lives.
Mercedes opens up about her childhood with Myra as a mother and starts to point the blame at her, when Myra walks in.

Later, as a torn Mercedes reads out a note from Warren, Jenson turns up to the rehab clinic and lays on the charm, but what’s he playing at?
“There are some massive McQueen scenes ahead as the whole family supports Mercedes at a group therapy session,” our insider teased.
“In the clinic, some huge home truths are revealed, especially when Mercedes blames her mum for everything – but will this experience bring the McQueens closer together, or tear them further apart?”

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
