A person has been hit by a train on Glasgow’s southside this evening (January 27), causing the closure of several lines from Glasgow Central. Emergency services are dealing with the ongoing incident between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida stations.
Trains between Glasgow Central and Neilston, as well as Newton in Lanark, have been cancelled, and disruption is expected to continue until around 8.30pm.
An alert from ScotRail read: “Due to a person being hit by a train between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 8.30pm.
“Train services between Glasgow Central and Neilston will be cancelled, delayed or revised.”
Scotrail added on X: “The emergency services are handling an incident between Pollockshields East and Mount Florida which means that services passing through these stations will be altered. We are working closely with the emergency services during this time. Please use our app for service updates during this time.”
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
