Roy Keane has been dealt a brutal message from the city of Leeds.
This might not come as a surprise given the 54-year-old’s connection to Manchester United. The Sky Sports football pundit’s infamous row with Mick McCarthy has returned to the fore in recent weeks.
Football fans might recall the fallout ahead of the 2002 World Cup saw the Republic of Ireland’s captain, Keane, leaving his team’s training camp before the competition even kicked off. Leaving manager McCarthy facing the questions about what went down.
In the new film Saipan Steve Coogan plays Mick McCarthy and Éanna Hardwicke taking the role of Roy Keane. Outside cinema Everyman, inside Trinity Leeds, the team have had a playful dig at Keane – something sure to go down well with Leeds United supporters.
