Kayak for Business is getting into the meetings game? Well, sort of. Biz Plus and Enterprise level customers now have access to a meetings and event travel booking feature that looks reminiscent of a Spotnana rollout from a couple of years ago. It’s not a meeting planning tool, but it does help manage attendee travel booking, payment and policy compliance.
According to the company, the new feature can import existing events from any meetings management platform that will provide the data. The meeting organiser also can create event parameters within the new tools.
Designating an event begins a travel booking workflow. From there, policies and payment rules can be set up to govern travel associated with the event and can be tailored to different types of attendees, for example internal, profiled travellers versus external non-profiled speakers or job recruits.
Via the Events feature, up to 10,000 potential event guests can be invited – in bulk or individually – through a link to the specific event travel workflow.
Appropriate policies and payment rules are applied, and invitees proceed through the traditional Kayak for Business tools to book their travel, capturing all associated booking details and data.
A Kayak spokesperson told BTN the tools are capable of creating virtual cards as a form of payment. Event organisers can set travel date windows, RSVP and booking deadlines, and then can track invites and bookings and spending via real-time dashboards.
Reminders, changes and cancellations can be managed within the platform, according to Kayak for Business.
“Coordinating travel logistics for business events can be a major productivity drain for organisers and attendees,” said Kayak for Business SVP Eva Fouquet in a statement. “We designed this feature to centralise event travel and information for attendees, leaders and admins so everyone can focus on what matters: the connections, impact and in-person learning that events deliver.”
There is a cost to using the feature, but it varies according to customer size and usage frequency, according to the spokesperson.
Kayak for Business is just the latest in getting the memo that groups and meetings travel management is a gap that needs filling, especially if those events include non-profiled guest travellers. AmTrav’s guest travel tool Gather, which includes meetings management elements, rolled out in 2022, Spotnana Events hit the market in 2024. In 2025 Pana founder Devon Tivona rebirthed a guest travel platform called Juno and new player EmPath, founded by former Google travel manager Greg Wilczek, hit the market.
A differentiator for Kayak for Business’ Events feature is that it is native to the Kayak for Business platform, which has a consumer-feel UI and big-name travel brand recognition. Spotnana and AmTrav’s Gather can claim the native workflow integration, but not the consumer name.
