Arne Slot could use Jarell Quansah at Liverpool now
When Jeremie Frimpong went down injured on Wednesday night, it was clear from the reaction around Anfield that this was a devastating blow.
Conor Bradley is already out of the picture, and now the only other recognised right-back is out as well.
Liverpool aren’t expected to sign a replacement, but they wouldn’t have to think twice about it if Jarell Quansah were still at the club.

The academy product was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for £35 million pure profit. At the time, it didn’t raise many eyebrows, with Liverpool expected to bring in Marc Guehi.
That never happened, and now the Reds are desperately short in the two positions Quansah was used in last season.
Liverpool fans voted Diaz as the biggest regret of the window last month, but recent events now put the English defender ahead of him — for me at least.
Liverpool’s buyback clause for Quansah
It was widely documented that a buyback clause was inserted in Quansah’s contract.
Unfortunately, that £51 million option doesn’t come into play until the summer of 2027.

Quansah will be 25 by then, and may well be at the level where Liverpool want him back in the fold.
For now, though, they have no recourse to correct their mistake. Though it has to be said, hindsight is 20/20.
