New data from Alliance Online reveals that Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds have among the cheapest margherita pizzas in the UK, ranking third, fourth and seventh, respectively, for affordability.

A 12-inch margherita costs just £8.70 in Huddersfield, £8.76 in Bradford, and £9.44 in Leeds, both well below the national average of £11.27.

Rachael Kiss, marketing manager at Alliance Online, the company behind the research, said: “The UK is a nation of pizza lovers, and our research uncovers the best places to enjoy a slice (or two) without spending a fortune.

“Northern England, in particular, stands out as the most budget-friendly region for pizza enthusiasts.”

Bolton topped the list as the cheapest place in the UK for a margherita at £8.32, while Middlesbrough placed second at £8.33.

Bradford offers 114 pizza takeaways compared to Leeds’ 132.

Other northern cities on the list include Hull, Manchester, Liverpool, and Warrington, with Sunderland rounding out the top 10.

In Scotland, Dundee is the cheapest at £10.25, just ahead of Edinburgh at £10.49.
