Officers were called to a report of vandalism at the HSBC branch in Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, at the corner of Argyle Street, at around 3.20am on Friday.
Several windows were smashed and red paint was thrown onto the building.

Police Scotland confirmed a 25-year-old woman has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.
The same branch was targeted just last week by pro-Palestine protesters, who threw red paint onto the premises and smashed several windows and doors.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.20am on Friday, 30 January, 2026, police received a report of a vandalism at a commercial property in Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
“A 25-year-old woman has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
A HSBC spokesperson told our sister paper the Glasgow Times: “Criminal acts against our branches threaten the safety of our colleagues, customers, and our ability to serve the community, including some of the most vulnerable people who rely on our network.
“Safety is our priority, and we are actively assisting law enforcement to ensure accountability for these attacks and restore normal service as quickly as possible.”
