A road was closed in Liverpool city centre on Friday evening after an e-bike rider was struck by a car. Merseyside Police were called to the junction of West Derby Street and Crown Street at around 8.55pm on Friday, January 30, following reports of a crash involving an e-bike and a red Ford Fiesta.

The rider of the e-bike suffered minor injuries, a police spokesperson confirmed. The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Photographs from the scene show two Matrix vehicles and a police car in attendance. A red car can be seen at the junction with a smashed windscreen, damage to the bonnet and a headlight hanging loose.

A black bike could also be seen in the road.

The road has now been reopened following the incident.
