It’s all change at Wicked as the London and Broadway casts see new Fiyeros taking over!
Current London star of Wicked, Carl Man, who plays Fiyero in the blockbuster musical, is off to America.
Carl will make his Broadway debut in the New York production of Wicked, taking over the role from 3 March 2026. He leaves the London production on 8 February.
Current London ensemble member and cover Fiyero, Jacob Young (Mamma Mia!, Heathers), is set to take over from Carl to play Fiyero in London, performing from 10 February to 17 May 2026.
Wicked milestones
Wicked is one of the West End’s most successful productions. Its recent – and forthcoming – milestones include:
- In June 2025, Wicked welcomed its 13 millionth visitor to the West End show
- In September 2025, the musical celebrated its 19th birthday in the West End
- In November 2025, the show became the 9th longest-running show – and 7th longest-running musical – in West End history
- Last Wednesday (21 January 2025), Wicked racked up its 7,500th performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre
- On 27 September 2026, Wicked is set to celebrate its 20th birthday in London, having opened at the Apollo Victoria in London in 2006.
Carl Man started as an understudy for Fiyero with the 15th anniversary company, and then played the role on the UK and Ireland tour, before joining the West End company last spring 2025.
The London production also stars Emma Kingston as Elphaba and Zizi Strallen as Glinda, with Sarah Ingram as Madame Morrible, Michael Matus as The Wizard, Ross Carpenter as Boq, David McKechnie as Doctor Dillamond, and Hannah Qureshi as Nessarose.
Wicked features songs by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell) and is written by Winnie Holzman, based on Gregory Maguire’s book. The show is directed by Joe Mantello.
