Reading Time: 2 minutes

From a one-minute online nomination to a gruelling race across the county, locals are being invited to support the children’s hospice this spring.
West Yorkshire residents are being encouraged to rally behind one of the region’s most vital charities, Forget Me Not Hospice, which supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
This spring, the Huddersfield-based hospice is offering two very different ways for individuals and businesses to get involved — proving that whether you have seconds or stamina to spare, you can still make a meaningful difference.
One Minute That Could Deliver £1,000
Supporters are being asked to take part in what the hospice is calling a “one-minute mission” — a simple online nomination that could secure a £1,000 donation.
Forget Me Not Hospice has been put forward for the Benefact Group’s Movement for Good awards, which distribute charitable grants through a public nomination process. Each nomination places the charity into a draw to receive £1,000 in funding.
The process is free and takes less than a minute. With enough local backing, that small effort could translate into vital support for children and families across the region.
Residents can nominate Forget Me Not Hospice via the Movement for Good website and are encouraged to share the link with friends, family and colleagues to maximise the charity’s chances.
Race Across West Yorkshire Returns This April
For those seeking a more hands-on challenge, Forget Me Not Hospice is also reviving its flagship fundraising event, Race Across West Yorkshire, on 17 April.
Run in partnership with RRG Toyota Huddersfield, the event is inspired by the BBC’s Race Across the World.
Teams of two from local businesses and organisations will take on a 12-hour race across the county, navigating checkpoints and challenges without the use of personal phones or cars.
The race is designed to test teamwork, resilience and problem-solving, while showcasing the landscapes and hidden corners of West Yorkshire.
Why Businesses Are Getting Involved
Organisers say the event offers more than just a fundraising opportunity.
Participating teams gain the chance to represent their organisation, strengthen working relationships and take part in a unique shared experience — all while raising money for an essential local cause.
Places are limited to one team per organisation, and demand is expected to be high.
Supporting Families When It Matters Most
From a quick online nomination to an all-day endurance challenge, both initiatives play a crucial role in sustaining Forget Me Not Hospice’s work.
The charity provides specialist care, emotional support and practical help to some of the region’s most vulnerable children and their families.
As spring approaches, organisers are urging the community to get involved in whatever way they can.
