Ace India batter Virat Kohli’s unusually calm demeanour after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s win against the Chennai Super Kings has sparked a massive social reaction on social media, with fans wondering if the recent controversy over Kohli liking a certain post on Instagram has disappointed him.
Despite Bengaluru pulling off one of the most dramatic victories over Chennai in IPL 2025, Kohli appeared rather morose, very unusual for a person of his type who celebrates the smallest of wins with utmost vigour.
Cameras captured Kohli walking off the field in silence. He was later seen sitting alone in Bengaluru’s box, sparking a wave of speculation among netizens.
“People have broken a strong man 🙂💔. Like, people have problems with everything Virat Kohli does, how much can a person tolerate this?” a fan questioned in the wee hours of Sunday.

Kohli issued a clarification on Friday after social media erupted over his alleged like on a fan page post featuring actress Avneet Kaur.
“I’d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made,” Kohli posted on his Instagram story.
“What happened to you, my man🥺 Today, you completely looked off. Couldn’t celebrate 50,” another fan tweeted on Sunday.

Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married eight years back, and it was in 2021 when the couple welcomed their baby girl, Vamika, into their lives. Their son Akaay was born last year. Some fans also dragged Anushka into the conversation.
Meanwhile, once Bengaluru piled a huge 213/5, courtesy half-centuries of different hues by Kohli (62, 33 balls), Jacob Bethell (55 off 33) and Romario Shepherd (53 not out of 14, 4×4, 6×6), joint-second fastest in the Indian Premier League, Chennai had a mountain to climb.
