The Midnight Club has opened the doors to a new studio in Leeds, marking the latest step in the agency’s UK growth following expansions into North America and Amsterdam.
Launching this month, the Leeds base will start with a 14-strong team, with The Midnight Club confirming recruitment is already underway across creative, design and production roles.
Yorkshire-born, ex-Burberry creative Freddie Smithson will help shape the studio’s creative direction, working alongside Directors Chris Bennett and Stephen Guilfoyle.

The team will support the agency’s work across a roster that includes adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Disney and Dr. Martens.
The Midnight Club said the Leeds launch is aimed at strengthening its footprint in the North, while building closer links with the region’s wider creative and cultural ecosystem. Plans include collaborations and cultural programmes due to roll out across the year, alongside an expansion of its in-house post-production capabilities.
Founder Ben Moutrie said the move was both a strategic step and a return to the agency’s roots in the region.
“There aren’t many companies like Midnight Club out there, even less so in this brilliant corner of the world,” he said. “Leeds is a perfect location for us to nurture our breed of alternative, independent thinking and craft.
“Although built in London, our business was born here and has always operated with the work-ethic, integrity and sense of humour so akin with the region. It’s a privilege to be expanding the company through the city so many of us know and love”.
The Midnight Club launched in 2016 and has grown into a multi-disciplinary business spanning brand and business strategy, creative studio services, in-house production and creative technology, with more than 140 people working across its global operation.
