A van has overturned on the M8 in Glasgow. The major motorway was closed westbound at the Kingston Bridge due to a road traffic incident which took place at around 12:05pm on Sunday, February 1. It has since reopened.
Photos captured by Traffic Scotland showed a grey van on its side on the busy road. Traffic was seen building up on the stretch of road. Motorists were urged to use alternative routes and to prepare for delays in their journey.
Officers from Police Scotland attended the scene. There were no injuries and the driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a road traffic offence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said earlier: “The M8 has reopened at the Kingston Bridge following a one-vehicle crash reported to police around 12.05pm on Sunday, 1 February. There are no reported injuries.
“The driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a road traffic offence.”Road users are thanked for their patience.”

Traffic Scotland originally said a hold up of around 20 minutes was expected.
A spokesperson said: “All lanes have now reopened on the M8 westbound at the Kingston Bridge following a road traffic incident. Delays have now fallen below the reporting threshold.”
Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
