Former Chennai Super Kings player Ambati Rayudu would be the last human being on planet Earth to support the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has been a staunch critic of the Bengaluru franchise for years, and his mocking statements have often invited the wrath of RCB fans. He has made fun of Bengaluru from the commentary box during live matches and also used social media to write against one of the most followed franchises in the world.

Surprisingly, he offered his support to the No. 1 team in the standings after their win over Chennai. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have recorded 16 points from 11 matches and are already through to the playoffs.

Rayudu took a U-turn or a change of heart during the RCB vs CSK match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. With Bengaluru leading the proceedings, Ambati heaped massive praise on Rajat Patidar’s team despite being reminded of his relationship with RCB fans.

“I would be happy if RCB won the title. Trolls will continue to troll. Chennai Super Kings is out, but Mumbai Indians are there. RCB will have to beat MI to win the trophy,” Ambati Rayudu said.

Harbhajan Singh, another MI and CSK loyalist, challenged him. “It would be tough. Mumbai Indians are in top form, and beating them wouldn’t be easy. However, I think the final would be played between RCB and MI,” he said.

The Challengers started the new season impressively, and after a few hiccups in home games, they returned to winning ways at their fortress. They have won six out of six away matches. On the other hand, MI went off track at the start of their campaign, with players failing to contribute across departments.

However, the return of Jasprit Bumrah against Delhi Capitals and a close win in the contest gave confidence to the entire unit, and the five-time champions haven’t looked back since then.

Mumbai are on an unbeaten streak of six matches, and the opposite numbers are finding it tough to match their firepower.
