That’s a wrap!

Thanks for joining Far Out this year at the Grammys. It has been a pleasure to have been your guide as we’ve remembered greats like Roberta Flack and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as honouring the stars of 2026.

It has also been a ceremony to remember with Trevor Noah bowing out in style after six years with his loosest and most enjoyable performance yet as the Grammys host. Whoever steps up next year certainly has big shoes to fill…

See you this time next year!

Bad Bunny closes the Grammys in Spanish

Although Bad Bunny proved earlier in the night that he was more than capable of speaking in English, if necessary, his decision to celebrate ‘Album of the Year’ in Spanish was a powerful gesture.

After all, ever since he was announced to headline the Super Bowl, he’s been taking criticism from Donald Trump, who also confessed to not hearing a note of his music, and others who believe the half time show should belong to someone who performs in English. However, Bad Bunny proved at the Grammys that he’s not changing for anyone, and right now, Latin people need him to stand proud more than ever.

Admittedly, I may not have understood the words that were coming out of his mouth, but the sentiment was incredibly touching nonetheless.

Now, all eyes are on the Super Bowl next week…

Bad Bunny wins ‘Album of the Year’

Bad Bunny is reduced to tears as his name is called out by Harry Styles and after a brief pause to catch his breath, he is on stage with the ‘Album of the Year’ Grammy in his hand.

He began his speech by speaking in his native Spanish before reverting to English to explain that it’s dedicated to everybody who has had to move country to “follow their dreams”, before the Puerto Rican superstar returned to his mother tongue.

A night he will never forget.

Clipse are here!

After winning a Grammy earlier tonight, Clipse and Pharrell Williams have celebrated with a phenomenal performance of ‘So Far Ahead’.

Their night could get even better if they clinch the Grammy for ‘Album of the Year’, which is set to be presented by Harry Styles, who won that very same award in 2023.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA win ‘Record of the Year’

‘Luther’ has scored Kendrick Lamar and SZA yet another victory tonight, which marks Lamar’s second consecutive year of winning ‘Record of the Year’ after scoring a win in 2025 for ‘Not Like Us’ in the same prestigious category.

If anyone is still counting, this takes Kendrick’s number of Grammys up to 27 for his career.

“This is what music is about, Luther Van Dross. This is special for me, one of my favourite artists of all time,” he said, before sharing his gratitude for gaining the sample from Van Dross’ estate.

He also revealed they only got the sample on the condition that there was no cursing, which he happily obliged.

Meanwhile, SZA reminded those watching on to ignore the hate-filled algorithms on our phones and remember “we are not governed by governments but by God.”

Cher is here to accept her ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’

For the first time in 18 years, Cher, who has this year been given a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by the Grammys and Trevor Noah had the honour of handing it to her at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

In her speech, Cher said she has “either been at the top or bottom” throughout her career, reflecting on the highs and lows, such as resorting to Las Vegas in the 1980s, being dropped by her label before ‘Believe’ re-established her rightful position in the musical hierarchy.

“Never give up on your dreams, no matter what happens,” she powerfully told the room of musicians, who lapped up her every word.

In addition to celebrating her victory, she is also here to hand out ‘Record of the Year’…

Ms Lauryn Hill remembers Roberta Flack

Ms Lauryn Hill is truly showing off her musical dexterity at the Grammys right now, putting in a performance for the ages. Following the conclusion of the D’Angelo segment, she’s now honouring Roberta Flack with a spine-tingling rendition of ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’.

Leon Bridges also joined the performance along with Jon Batiste, followed shortly after by October London and Lalah Hathaway. Then, the heat got turned up even further with the additions of John Legend and Chaka Khan. The vocal range on the stage is off the charts as generations of stars collide to respect a mutual hero of theirs.

Ms Lauryn Hill honours D’Angelo

D’Angelo was another musical great who we lost far too soon in 2025, aged only 51, but Ms Lauryn Hill is leading the Grammys through a history lesson in his sheer brilliance with a helping hand from Leon Thomas, as well as Lucky Daye, Raphael Saadiq and Jon Batiste.

A performance that would make D’Angelo proud.

The Osbourne family watch on in awe

It’s been a special night for Sharon Osbourne tonight, firstly having Yungblud win his first Grammy for his cover of ‘Changes’ during Ozzy’s farewell show at Villa Park, and now this all-star cast coming together for ‘War Pigs’.

Sharon looked close to tears when the camera panned to her while Slash shredded away, and her children, Jack and Kelly, also watched on in amazement at what they were witnessing.

Rock avengers assemble for Ozzy Osbourne tribute

Chad Smith, Andrew Watt, Duff McKagan and Post Malone are here to honour the late great Ozzy Osbourne, kicking things off with a thunderous rendition of ‘War Pigs’.

While Post Malone wouldn’t have been the expected choice for the performance, he has risen to the occasion, just as he did when he fronted Nirvana last year for Saturday Night Live’s 50 year anniversary.

Throughout the performance, rock greats like Blondie’s Clem Burke, Ace Frehley from Kiss, Mick Ralphs and Brian James from The Damned were also remembered on the screen behind them, all of whom have died in the last 12 months.

Bob Weir remembered by John Mayer

John Mayer’s touching tribute to his late bandmate Bob Weir was another emotional moment. However, similarly to the tribute to Brian Wilson, it deserved more time to breathe and a performance would have been an even more fitting tribute.

Bruce Springsteen remembers Brian Wilson

The death of Brian Wilson was one of the saddest musical moments of 2025, and the Grammys honoured his legacy with a short voiceover from Bruce Springsteen speaking about the power of the material he left behind.

While Wilson was deserving of more than just a short video segment, it was a nice touch from Springsteen to honour his musical hero.

Trevor Noah makes Jeffrey Epstein joke

As the night has worn on, the Grammys has become increasingly political and Trevor Noah, who knows he won’t be returning in 2027 already, has gone there…

He joked that Trump is mainly after Greenland because he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton on now that Epstein’s island is a thing of the past, which was met with huge laughter from those in the room, but it’s one that Trump is unlikely to see the funny side of.

Billie Eilish: “No one is illegal on stolen island”

Carole King, who wore an ‘ICE Out’ pin, awarded ‘Song of the Year’ to Billie Eilish and Finneas, who were also wearing the same pin.

After sharing her gratitude for the award, Eilish turned her attention to more serious matters following the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good for protesting against ICE in Minneapolis.

“No one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish began her speech by saying, before urging people to continue protesting on the streets against ICE and stating that the energy at the Grammys was making her “hopeful” for the future.

Notably, CBS did censor Eilish twice during her speech after she condemned ICE.

Lola Young beats the biggest names in pop

Charli XCX had the honour of presenting Lola Young with the Grammy for ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ thanks to ‘Messy’, which Young didn’t see coming.

She was up against pop heavyweights Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber; therefore, it’s understandable why Young didn’t prepare a speech to read out.

Although half of her words were bleeped out, presumably for being expletive-ridden, Young exuded utter joy during her speech and she didn’t even need words to express her feelings on the career-defining moment.

Lady Gaga wins ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’

Following an amusing exchange between guest presenters Teyana Taylor and Nikki Glaser, Lady Gaga beat Miley Cyrus and Sabrina Carpenter to win ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ for Mayhem.

An emotional Jelly Roll devoted his victory in the ‘Best Contemporary Country Album’ for Beautifully Broken to Christianity changing his life. Reflecting on his time in prison with nothing but a Bible and a radio for company, which he thanked for changing the fabric of his existence.

It marks the first Grammy win of his career.

Bad Bunny: “ICE out”

To a standing ovation from the entire room, Bad Bunny said, “ICE out”, while accepting ‘Best Música Urbana Album’, before eloquently adding on behalf of the Latino population in the US, “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are Americans”.

Despite English not being his first language, he got past the language barrier to add, “The hate gets more powerful with more hate, the only thing that is more powerful than hate is love, so please we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”

He powerfully concluded, “We don’t hate them, we love our people, and we love our family. We love, don’t forget that please.”

While there have been pin badges on display and nods to the power of immigration, Bad Bunny was more direct than anybody else with his heartfelt statement.

The pair got through, just about, a somewhat awkward exchange, which ended with Noah asking if he could move to Puerto Rico to escape the US if it continues getting worse, before being reminded by Bad Bunny that Puerto Rico is in the US.

Last year, Chappell Roan was awarded ‘Best New Artist’. Now, she’s back and has awarded the same award to Olivia Dean, who will be looking to follow in her footsteps.

In her speech, Dean, who had to wipe away tears, discussed her shock about being on the Grammys stage, thanking her manager and family, as well as a “granddaughter of an immigrant”, which feels particularly vital during these current times in the United States.

Olivia Dean’s performance of ‘Man I Need’ feels like her crowning moment; she looks like she belongs on that stage and will be an artist who will be around for decades to come. A triumph.

Lola Young strips it back for ‘Messy’

Last summer, Lola Young took a step back from the music industry to prioritise her mental health, which should be admired hugely. Her performance at the Grammys marks her return, and the stripped-down piano version of ‘Messy’ saw the English singer-songwriter pour her heart into every note. No theatrics or flamboyant stunts, just a pure performance.

‘Best New Artist’ time

The Marías began the round of ‘Best New Artist’ performances with aplomb, with Billie Eilish and Finneas fully captured by their magnificence. Then, Addison Rae dazzled with ‘Fame is a Gun’, putting on an elaborate pop star performance that even came with a costume change, as well as lip-sync suspicions.

Katseye followed down a similar route to Addison Rae with full-blown theatrics that thrilled the crowd before Leon Thomas opted for a back-to-basics approach, which felt like a throwback compared to the two performances that came before him.

The phones came out from the crowds to film Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’, which saw him manoeuvre his way through the audience to the stage. While the crowd were loving every second of it, including Jelly Roll, the song still feels quite ordinary to me despite how many times I’ve heard it in taxis.

And the ‘Best Rap Album’ winner is…

It had to be him… Kendrick Lamar has done it again. GNX has won the Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album’, it’s his third Grammy of the night and the 26th of his career.

“Hip-hop is always going to be right here,” Lamar poignantly said during his speech, which was short and sweet, as well as a reflection of the Grammys giving the genre the respect that it has earned.

Last year, the night belonged to Kendrick, and seemingly, tonight is set to confirm his status as ‘King of the Grammys’.

Sabrina Carpenter is a proper pop star

Sabrina Carpenter had an iconic Grammys debut in 2025, and her rendition of ‘Manchild’ was an old-school, devastingly fun, undiluted pop experience with a production budget that spared no expense, including a white dove.

Now that her performance is out of the way, Carpenter will be hoping that it won’t be the last time she sets foot on the Grammys stage tonight.

Trevor Noah impersonates Donald Trump

It wouldn’t be an awards show if the host didn’t impersonate Donald Trump at some stage.

Noah wheeled his impression out to poke fun at the president’s bizarre friendship with Nicki Minaj, who he revealed, to the shock of nobody in the room, wasn’t invited to the Grammys this year.

Minaj was the only artist to catch a major stray in Noah’s monologue, which largely stroked the egos of those in the room rather than ridiculing them on the global stage.

Trevor Noah delivers his opening monologue

Trevor Noah is a seasoned professional, and there’s a reason why they have invited him back for the past six years.

While he did manage to get the room excited for what’s to come later this night, as well as light digs about Jeff Bezos’ wedding, Diddy, and President Donald Trump, Noah didn’t go in two-footed. Instead, he chose to keep it light rather than take a leaf out of Nikki Glaser’s playbook at the Golden Globes.

Olivia Dean has been established in the UK for several years, but 2025 was the year that she took over the world with her second album, The Art of Loving and breakthrough hit, ‘Man I Need’.

Now, she seems likely to top off her stratospheric rise with the Grammy win for ‘Best New Artist’, and will also perform at the ceremony. Previous winners, dating back to its incarnation, include Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, to recent victors, such as Billie Eilish and Adele.

Joni Mitchell has just won the Grammy for ‘Best Historical Person’, and was there to collect her award in person, but seemingly nobody told her that was why she was asked on stage, which led to a brief awkward silence.

Ending her speech in truly wonderful style, Mitchell said, “I guess that’s it.”

The winners have begun to be revealed, including FKA Twigs winning the Grammy for ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ for Eusexua, beating competition from Fred Again, PinkPantheress, Skrillex and Rüfüs Du Sol.

In her winner’s speech, Twigs, who released her debut album in 2014, powerfully said, “I know to a lot of people I may be new, but I actually have been doing this for a really long time. To any artist, don’t give up. Follow your vision. Do you. Because that’s what will make the world fall in love with your art.”
