Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher is set to complete a permanent transfer to Leeds
Teenage Manchester United midfielder Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher is set to leave the club and sign a permanent deal with Leeds on transfer deadline day. The 17-year-old signed scholarship terms at Old Trafford last year and joined the club from Sheffield United. He has featured for the Under-18s this season but has dropped out of the reckoning recently.
Leeds registered their interest in signing the attacking midfielder before the window opened, and a deal is now set to be agreed that will see Ibrovic-Fletcher move to Elland Road, where he is expected to join Leeds’ academy set-up.
The Serbia Under-19 international started twice for Darren Fletcher’s Under-18s this season and made five further appearances off the bench, but he hasn’t been involved in the last six Premier League U-18 games and didn’t make the squad for FA Youth Cup wins against Peterborough and Derby County.
Ibrovic-Fletcher was born in Leeds and will now get more chances at academy level with United’s fierce rivals from across the Pennines. He is one of five academy players likely to be on the move on deadline day, with Ethan Wheatley having joined Bradford City on loan, while Jacob Devaney, Gabriele Biancheri and James Scanlon are set to seal temporary moves to St Mirren, Rotherham and Swindon respectively.
