Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy students performed a dynamic production of Billy Elliot the Musical showcasing the exceptional talent, commitment, and creativity of its students.
Performed to enthusiastic audiences, the production brought to life the inspiring story of a young boy discovering his passion for dance amidst the backdrop of the 1984–85 miners’ strike. With powerful performances, high energy choreography, and heartfelt musical numbers, students from across the academy demonstrated remarkable professionalism both on stage and behind the scenes.
Headteacher Mrs V Smith praised the cast and crew, saying:
“Our students have worked incredibly hard, and their dedication truly shows. This production celebrates resilience, aspiration, and community – values at the heart of our academy.”
The academy extends its gratitude to staff, families, and the wider community for their support in making the show a memorable success.
