Two people were hurt after being attacked by three dogs in the Midlands.

Police were called to the scene after a man and a woman were bitten on Monday, February 2.

Both took themselves to hospital for treatment, police said.

Officers have since arrested two people in connection with the incident.

Staffordshire Police said: “Two people have been arrested on suspicion of animal control offences after two people suffered dog bite injuries in Stoke-on-Trent.

“We were called shortly before 6pm on Monday, February 2, to Macdonald Crescent in Meir.

“Three dogs were involved. A man suffered serious injuries.

“Another victim, a woman, also suffered a significant bite injury.

“Both victims made their way to hospital independently for treatment.

“Officers assisted in securing the animals, which have since been removed from the property.

“A 37-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both of Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

“They remain in police custody while our inquiries continue.

“Officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and urge anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
