We are definitely on a break now.'Phoebe would've never ordered this'

Diners across the country have been flocking to their nearest McDonald’s after the fast food chain unveiled their latest creation, an adult Happy Meal. For its debut they chose to go with the crowd-pleasing theme of Friends.

The meal, which was available from February 3, comes with limited-edition miniatures of the beloved ’90s sitcom characters. Monica is dressed in chef whites, Phoebe is holding her cherished guitar, and so on.

Each adult Happy Meal comes with fries, a drink and one of the toys. You can choose from a Big Mac, nine chicken nuggets, or a McPlant.

The minute we heard the chatter, we made our way down to McDonald’s. Like any good Friends fan, we had our firm favourites in mind and ranked the six characters ahead of our arrival – Phoebe at the top, Ross at the bottom.

We opted for a Big Mac meal, which on reflection was silly – Phoebe would’ve never ordered this. We also chose to get a few of the new additions to the menu, which included the pizza mozzarella dippers and a tikka chicken wrap.

Our adult Happy Meal was £9.09 – and would’ve been £9.99 for a large meal. The wrap was £3.89, and the dippers a mere £2.89.

These new items didn’t blow us away. The wrap isn’t nearly as tasty as some of the other choices on the main menu, and the mozzarella dippers were pretty dry.

However they do come with Monica’s Marinara, which is cute. Now for the meal.

We’ve all tried a Big Mac before, it’s been around for years – nothing new to describe here. While we were left disappointed by some of the new items, what happened next left us completely gutted.

We opened the adorable Friends box to find Marcel staring back at us. He was, of course, on Ross’ head. As if we could display this anywhere.

We’re now on a mission to find Phoebe, but this is where we reach a problem. If each adult Happy Meal is £9.09, we could be looking at spending £54 to find her.

The new McFlurry option was lovely

To battle our disappointment, we went back and ordered one of the new brownie pies (£2.39) and the latest McFlurrry, Munchies Vanilla Cheesecake (£2.49). A small price to pay, to make up for having to take Ross home.

Overall, we’d say the adult Happy Meals are a lovely treat for any Friends fan – but don’t get your heart set on a specific character. And no, you can’t ask them for the one you want.

As for the new menu items that were released on Tuesday, you wouldn’t be missing much to swerve them.
