The Housing Executive’s Chief Executive is set to leave the role after five years, it has emerged.
Grainia Long, has been at the helm of the north’s Housing Executive since 2021.
Ms Long informed colleagues of her decision to leave the post last week.
It is believed that she will now take over the position of Permanent Secretary at the Department for Communities.
It is thought that her new role will pay a salary in excess of £100,000.
Ms Long had previously served in a variety of high-profile roles across the UK and Ireland.
She previously worked at Thames Valley Association as a Senior Independent Director and also held the role of Chief Executive at the ISPCC and the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Meanwhile, the Housing Executive will now begin the process of searching for a new chief executive.
A Housing Executive spokesperson told The Irish News: “We can confirm that Grainia will be leaving her role as Chief Executive this Spring to take up another post in the public sector in Northern Ireland.
“Grainia informed colleagues last week.
“The recruitment of a new Chief Executive will commence shortly.”
The Executive Office and the Department for Communities have been approached for comment on the matter.
