An Edinburgh man is in hospital after a ‘hit and run’ murder bid on Tuesday evening. Around 9.50pm on February 3, emergency services rushed to Lochend Drive after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
A 36-year-old man was blue-lighted to hospital for treatment. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
Officers are treating the incident at ‘attempted murder’ and inquiries are ongoing to trace the driver. The area was locked down for a number of hours while investigations were carried out and it is understood police remain in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Tuesday, 3 February, 2026, we were called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Lochend Drive in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.”
