If you’re the type to always lose their keys and wallets you may frequently wish there was a way to easily track them instead of turning the house upside down only to find they’re under a sofa cushion. Fortunately, Apple has been providing a solution to this for a good few years now via its AirTags.
The small battery-powered discs can be fitted into or slip into a wide vareity of items, which lets you track them with the Find My app on your iPhone. Currently, Amazon is allowing people to purchase a pack of four AirTags for £69 after reducing the price from £119 – working out at £17.25 apiece.
Alternatively, you can buy a single Apple AirTag for £28 – more than £10 more than buying four together. A double pack is on sale for £56 instead of £70 – working out at £28 per tag.

The handy white tags come equipped with tracking and speakers, allowing you to play a sound through them for easy finding. Through the Find My app, you can also use precision tracking to help you find the excact location of the AirTag and whatever is attached to them.
For those concerned about the longevity of the device, Apple’s AirTags boast a battery lifge of over one year, afterwhich all you need to do is simply replace the small and affordable CR5 battery. If you plan on attaching the AirTag to your keyring or luggage, you will likely need an accessory to help them be attached.
Fortunately, you can also grab an AirTag Holder case for as low as £7.98 each from Amazon. PESTON’s AirTag holder comes in a variety of colours to help match your aesthetic, including pink, yellow, blue, and black and is made of a soft silicone material which also claims to be shockproof, further protecting the AirTag from any accidental bumps or other damage.
Keep in mind though that the Apple AirTags are only compatible with iPhone’s running iOS 14.5 later, so many not be supported by older iPhone models. Despite this, they are reportedly compatible with iPhone models as old as the iPhone 6, which is still capable of running iOS 14.5.

If you still want a tracker but don’t need it to be Apple’s own device, you could opt for the cheaper Aowaka F2 Air Tag on Amazon, which currently only costs £19.99 for a pack of four after an 80% price reduction. This provides a similar function to the AirTags and is also IP67 waterproof ratedf while also being available in a full black colour.
Otherwise, you can choose the Aowaka Air Tracker Tags, which is currently £10 for a four pack. These tracker tags stand out as they are already equipped with their own key ring attachment, thus eliminating the need to buy extra accessories.
People purchased Apple’s AirTags praised it for its functionality and seamless compatibility with their phone, with one shopper noting: “Apple AirTag is one of those products you don’t realize you need until you have it. Setup was incredibly easy, and it works seamlessly with my iPhone.
“The tracking is fast and accurate, and the Precision Finding feature is seriously impressive — it’s saved me so much time looking for my keys and wallet. The design is small, sleek, and durable, and the battery lasts ages. Simple, smart, and super reliable. Definitely worth it.”
Another added: “Does exactly as it says and is very versatile in use. I’ve used it in luggage, in my purse and even as a cat tracker briefly! It’s small and compact as well as being very light. Replacement batteries are also easy to obtain.”

A third said: “We use the AirTags a lot, especially for use in luggage when travelling. The batteries last a while but I don’t believe the claims they last as long as they do, as I’ve had to replace the batteries in 3 of these. They are well made with great quality materials. The sound carries far and even if burried in a bag or somewhere far in the house, you will hear it! Very small and lightweight, great for putting in luggage without adding to the weight at all really.”
However, not everyone was happy with their purchase, with one shopper writing: “Bought these to update the older generic ones I had. I’ve used an Airtag on my wallet for a few years and it’s been great (with iphone 11). Gutted to have just found out that my new 16e can’t do precise location!!??! As such the cheap alternatives will work just as well.”
Another said: “I ordered two Apple AirTags and one would not work until I changed the battery. Not very promising for how long the other one will last. It makes the cost of the AirTag more expensive.”
A third said: “The tracker is slow to update its location, sometimes stuck on a spot from 8 hours ago. I got it for a stray cat we feed, assuming it would refresh every few minutes like the iPhone’s People Tracker, which was my mistake for expecting too much from a simple device. Unfortunately, because the updates aren’t frequent, the location often isn’t accurate enough to know when the stray is nearby.”
