A major collision saw emergency services race to the scene on Wednesday, with a patient transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Police, paramedics and fire crews were dispatched to Admiralty Road in Rosyth at around 1.19pm on February 4.

An air ambulance was also sent to the scene, which airlifted a patient to Edinburgh. A second patient was also taken to the Royal Infirmary by road.

Their condition is not currently known. Emergency services remained at the scene in Rosyth for some time, with road closures in place.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area. Dramatic photos taken at the scene show emergency service vehicles and multiple personnel holding up the road.

A double-decker bus, which appears to be the Number 19 to Rosyth, can be seen parked up on the side of the road near the Shell garage. Police tape has been erected around the affected area and in another image, an air ambulance can be seen landing nearby.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service told us: “We received a call at 1.10pm today to attend a road traffic collision on Admiralty Road in Rosyth.

“We dispatched a number of resources to the scene including our special operations team and an air ambulance. We transported two patients to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; one travelled via road and the other patient was airlifted.”
