Leeds United are on the verge of completing a new signing despite the fact that the winter transfer window has already come to a close.
Daniel Farke’s side have been unable to strengthen their squad too much over the last month, with PSR very much on the minds of the hierarchy at Elland Road.
Facundo Buonanotte moved to Leeds from Brighton on loan until the end of the season, and ended up being the West Yorkshire side’s only senior addition of the window.
Leonard Ngenge also came in, signing permanently from Nigerian outfit Remo Stars FC, but the young defender will be joining up with the academy rather than being thrown into the first team.
Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher set for Leeds move
Leeds are set to sign Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher from Manchester United in the coming days, with an announcement expected soon.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has been in and around the under-18s at Man United this season, and has also been capped by Serbia at under-19 level.
While the transfer deadline has already passed, academy players are allowed to move outside the window, meaning Ibrovic-Fletcher can still complete his switch to Elland Road.
With rumours swirling about the imminent transfer, the Serb seems to have already confirmed that the deal is going ahead.
On his Instagram, Ibrovic-Fletcher is now following the official Leeds United account, as well as a club fanpage, TalkLeeds.
He is also following both Harry and Archie Gray, as well as Largie Ramazani, who is currently on loan from Leeds at Valencia.
Ibrovic-Fletcher to continue Leeds’ rich history
Leeds have a proud history of developing young talent, and they will be hoping that Ibrovic-Fletcher is the latest star to come through at Elland Road.
It is far more cost-efficient for the Whites to snap up those with potential while they are still developing, rather than waiting until they are senior players.
Harry Gray is currently one of the most highly thought of youngsters at Leeds, and is another that Farke will want to introduce into the first team over the next few years.
Gray joined Rotherham United on loan during the winter transfer window and has scored twice in his first four games in League One.
The 17-year-old will benefit greatly from regular first-team football and should return to Elland Road as a more complete player at the end of the season.
