Robbie Williams took to the stage in Liverpool wearing a Brookside t-shirt. The 51-year-old brought his “Long 90s” tour to Liverpool’s Olympia tonight (February 6) in front of a sell-out crowd.
Unlike his usual stadium and arena tours, Robbie will perform in front of a crowd of less than 2,000. He will perform his latest album, “Britpop”, in full.
The album, which was released in January, recently made Robbie a record-breaker, overtaking The Beatles with the most official UK number one albums ever, according to the Official Charts Company.
Robbie will also perform his debut solo album, Life Thru a Lens, from start to finish. His debut album featured huge hits such as Angels and Let Me Entertain You, which shot the singer to global stardom.
The ECHO’s reporters and a photographer were in attendance at the Tuebrook music venue tonight as the former Take That man took the stage.
Robbie walked onto the stage wearing a red jumper which he stripped off to reveal his tribute to the classic Liverpool TV show Brookside.
Robbie started his show by performing his 1997 debut album in the track listing order. He told the crowd: “Is right Liverpool. This is the first of my 16 number 1 albums.”
He also acknowledged to the crowd that this took him past The Beatles which drew good-natured boos from the crowd.
He also paid tribute to Atomic Kitten, the four-piece girl group formed in Liverpool.

Robbie Williams recently went viral this week for sharing a video of Greasby teacher Jemma Williamson. The 48-year-old featured on the new Take That documentary which dropped on Netflix last week.
In archive footage, Jemma is seen with a group of friends outside HMV in Chester in the early 1990s. The then 14-year-old uses the camera crews to attempt to share her phone number with Robbie Williams.
Robbie posted a clip of the moment on his own social media channels, and attempted to give the number a call, which has since been viewed more than three million times.
We will have pictures, reviews and all the latest updates from the show.
