Metrolink services on the Ashton line between Eccles and Ashton-under-Lyne have been suspended this evening (February 7) due to an obstruction on the line.

The Bee Network said in a post on X that the closure was due to a car on the tracks at the Holt Town stop.

The fault was first reported just after 7pm this evening.

They confirmed that tickets and passes are being accepted on the 7, 53, 76, 76A, 76B, 171, 172, 216, 219, 220, 221, 230, and 231 bus services.

It comes as Jason Derulo is set to play at the Co-op Live arena tonight, with the closest tram stop Etihad Campus on the Ashton line.

The M.E.N has been told by a concert goer that fans are having to ‘pile on’ to buses to get to the concert.
