An Edinburgh KFC closed it’s doors and moved to a brand new location this week. The fast food restaurant on South Charlotte Street shut on Monday, February 2.

But fans of the Kentucky fried chicken chain don’t need to worry just yet, as the eatery has announced that the shop has just moved to a unit in Fountain Park which opened on December 22.

The company has also confirmed that the entire South Charlotte Street team has moved with them, joining the team of 50 new staff at Fountain Park.

A KFC spokesperson said: “Fried chicken fans of Edinburgh, dinnae worry! The time was right for us to fly our coop on South Charlotte Street, but we’ve not gone far.

“We’re just at our shiny new Fountain Park restaurant, bringing our cracking South Charlotte Street team with us and creating 50 new jobs for the local community.”

Images of the old location show the shop in darkness, with the outside signage removed and the self-serve kiosks displaying a notice that reads: “This kiosk is currently closed.”

A notice on the front door of the restaurant simply reads: “Closed.”
