Police have issued an update after a fight broke out on a cricket pitch in Maghull. At around 7.30pm on Friday, May 2, officers were called to reports that a large group of youths had gathered at Maghull Cricket Club’s field on Old Hall Lane.
It was said that some males were carrying weapons and had begun fighting amongst themselves. According to police, they then made off towards the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. No injuries were reported.
In an update today, Sunday, May 4, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed a teenage boy has been arrested.
Police said a 14-year-old male from Maghull has been arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a weapon in a public place, and possession of a controlled Class B drug, cannabis.
He is still in police custody to be questioned.
