A person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Maghull. Emergency services were called to Eastway at around 7.20pm tonight, Tuesday February 10, following reports of a crash involving a black Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian.
Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service all attended the scene. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The male driver of the Ford Fiesta stopped at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is now underway, with forensic examinations taking place.
Eastway has been closed near Maghull shops while emergency services carry out their work, and traffic diversions have been put in place. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Images from the scene show a large police cordon in place, with multiple police vehicles and a scientific support unit in attendance. A yellow forensic tent has also been erected within the cordon.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported: “Eastway in both directions closed due to accident between A59 Northway and Deyes Lane.”
Bus operator Arriva North West confirmed that services have been affected by the closure.
In a post on X, the company said: “Due to a police incident at Eastway, Maghull, service 310 will divert via the A59 Northway in both directions, omitting Eastway, Deyes Lane, School Lane, Park Lane and Kenyons Lane.
“Delays are likely, please allow extra time for your journey.”
Police enquiries remain ongoing.
