Kate Middleton is known for her simple, yet flawless makeup looks. But surprising as it may seem, the Princess of Wales doesn’t just use high-end products to achieve them.

When it comes to lips, the best-selling Clarins Lip Perfector is one of her favourites. And it has just had its price slashed at Debenhams.

It’s now £18.40, down from £23 – this is cheaper than getting it from Boots (£25). The all-in-one balm works to nourish and boost lip radiance.

Wild mango butter and shea butter deliver nutrition and hydration to the lips, while rice bran oil, peptides and lip highlighter complex boost the lips natural colour. The beauty treat comes in 18 shades, including Rose Shimmer which Kate Middleton was spotted wearing at Wimbledon in 2019.

It has a 4.6 rating from 1,078 reviews. One happy shopper wrote: “The colour is perfect, it’s creamy and best of all not sticky – makes my lips feel super soft and hydrated.”

Another added: “It gives just the right amount of shine and feels super comfortable on the lips. Definitely a must-have in my makeup bag.”

A third commented: “It’s the perfect balance of hydration, colour and shine. The texture is super smooth – not sticky at all – and it leaves my lips feeling soft and nourished thanks to the shea butter and natural oils.”

There has been minimal criticism of the product, but some customers were left unimpressed by the results: “Extremely difficult to apply, uneven, peculiar smell and non lasting. I will never buy this again.”

Alternatively, you could opt for the Biossance Pro Peptide Lip Perfector. Now £11.25 at LookFantastic, it’s enriched with peptides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to promote smoother, plumper-looking lips.

It boasts a 4.9 rating out of 11 reviews. “My lips feel hydrated and look smoother and plumped,” said a buyer.

There’s also the Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm, priced at £12 at Space NK. Available in clear and tinted shades, it works to leave the lips feeling silky, soft and smooth.

Over 770 reviewers have given it an average rating of four-star: “It hydrates your lips while giving them a subtle, pretty glow. It’s super smooth and not sticky at all.”
