A man has been arrested in connection with the death of James Greenhorn who died near his home in Glasgow’s Tollcross on Monday.

A man has been arrested following the death of a man in Glasgow. James Greenhorn, 61, died following a disturbance near his home in Tollcross on Monday.

The dad-of-two was walking to the local shop when was allegedly stabbed. was pronounced dead at the scene in Dalness Close, Tollcross, after police were called to reports of a disturbance around 12.25pm on Monday, February 9.

Police Scotland has now confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 30-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a man in Tollcross, Glasgow on Monday, 9 February 2026.

“Around 12.25pm, police were called to Dalness Close where James Greenhorn, from the Tollcross area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries remain ongoing.”

Cops swarmed the Glasgow street on Monday, which sits just yards from the nearby St Paul’s Primary School.

Pictures taken from the scene showed the area cordoned off with detectives at the scene.

Forensic officers in white boiler suits could also be seen combing the scene.

Police were making door-to-door inquiries as the investigation into James’ death continued on Tuesday.

A large cordon was placed around Dalness Close and a uniformed officer was seen standing guard outside a home on the street.

Some worried locals could be seen asking police what had happened while others were being directed around the cordon.

James’ daughter, Shannon Greenhorn, 29, was due to appear for deferred sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday but was excused due to her ordeal.

Shannon had previously pleaded guilty to four different charge sheets which span between April 2024 and March 2025. Greenhorn admitted a string of offences which include assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.

She has also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. Sheriff Joanna McDonald fixed a new deferred sentence hearing for March.
