London City Council launches investigation into police use of federal database

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – The London City Council is launching it’s own investigation into how police officers used a federal crime database.

The FBI is currently investigating how the London Police Department, uses the National Crime Information Center.

The city council unanimously adopted a resolution on Wednesday seeking a log of all searches the police department made going back to October 2024. They want to know if those searches involved city council members and other city employees and if they gave information from the database to someone outside of law enforcement.
