The arrests of a suspected motorbike thief and a man suspected of stealing from a parked car took place over the last week in the Jewellery Quarter and on Soho Road.
The first incident saw two men in crash helmets allegedly steal a motorbike on Legge Lane on Thursday afternoon (May 1) after breaking its steering lock.
Two suspects were chased by officers on patrol, with one managing to escape, but the other arrested and charged, and the stolen motorbike was recovered.
The other incident involved a man reportedly being spotted by a passer-by reaching into a parked car on Soho Road. He allegedly made off with food, a bag and wallet.
The passer-by had taken a video of the incident, with officers identifying the suspect and arresting them on Saturday, April 26.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Great work by our officers led to the arrest of a suspected motorbike thief and a man suspected of stealing from a parked car, as our work to tackle vehicle crime in Birmingham continues.
“Two men in crash helmets were seen stealing a motorbike after breaking its steering lock on Legge Lane in the Jewellery Quarter last Thursday afternoon.
“Nearby officers, who were flagged down by a member of the public, and chased two suspects on foot.
“One managed to flee, but the other was arrested and later charged. The stolen motorbike was recovered.
“Elsewhere, a passer-by filmed a man reaching into a parked car on the Soho Road.
“The suspect took food, a bag, and a wallet with £200 cash before leaving the scene.
“Officers viewed the video and identified as suspect, who was arrested and charged with theft on Saturday (April 26).
